Today with all the fraud, waste and abuse of our country’s resources going to corrupt corporations unabated and by our increasingly oppressive Federal Government, can we the American citizens stand by and have no say on the direction of our country? Haven't we learned anything from the history of world powers in the past?
It is almost contrived to say that history can educate the leaders and key thinkers of the present. The phrase “learn from the past” appears in nearly every history book’s introduction. If children have flipped through their textbooks for generations they have been taught to learn from historical mistakes, why haven't we?
We dare not forget that we are the heirs of that first revolution. ~John F. Kennedy
"A Revolution is coming: a revolution which will be peaceful if we are wise enough, compassionate if we care enough, successful if we are fortunate enough - but a revolution which is coming whether we will it or not. We can effect it's character, we cannot alter it's inevitability." ~John F. Kennedy

This country is cloaked in a veil of naive thinking, forgetting the roots of our country. The negative effects of it are starting to repeat themselves here and now.
America finds itself blindfolded by faith in its administrations and their actions. Campuses and many public places were ordered to stop reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States Flag during Home Room. Then, the playing of the U.S. National Anthem was disallowed. Then prayers to a spiritual power were disallowed (whether vocal or silent). Now they want to remove God from the halls of justice and off what they refer to as our legal tender. Which is another subject. What have we become?
I have watched the Supreme Court make decisions which I found to be extraordinarily out of context with what our Founding Fathers have laid down for us. Then the Supreme Court ruled that it was all right for U.S. citizens and any other residents in this Republic to deface and dishonor the United States flag. Just because you can under the First Amendment doesn't mean you should.
If you are ashamed to stand by your colors, you had better seek another flag and another country.

We are "endowed . . . with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness -- That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed." (United States Bill Of Rights)
It was once an inspiration for immigrants to obtain citizenship in America and fulfill the promise of the American dream. Today, the influx of illegal immigrants don't want to assimilate into our republic or be proud of America. They would rather not learn English, but still want to be able to access our public services and numerous other resources at legal citizen taxpayer’s expense! But it doesn't stop there. They want to change how America is governed, by re-writing our laws and changing our constitution to support their agenda.
With the failure of the Federal Government enforcement of current immigration laws, I support Arizona and other states laws empowering enforcement against illegal immigrants.
The Arizona law allows the police to arrest immigrants unable to show documents
proving they are in the U.S. legally, makes it a misdemeanor for immigrants to
fail to complete and carry an alien registration document, stiffens penalties
against illegal alien day laborers and their employers, and bans sanctuary
cities from federal funding because they refuse to enforce immigration laws.
As a citizen of the United States who supports our Constitution, I believe it is
the foremost duty of our government to provide for national defense, including
the enforcement, prosecution and deportation of those
who enter our country illegally!
Our Government and citizens need to crack down on illegal aliens. We
need to "step up" and enforce our
national security by closing the borders. It is reprehensible for lawbreakers to
obtain any special status for illegal immigrants and their access to public
services at legal citizen taxpayer’s expense. We must stop the drain these illegal aliens have
on our resources.

Unfortunately, in the 20th century the government became more master than servant and now treats us like subjects who cannot tie our shoes without its help. And the more government taxes and controls us, the more it undermines the civic institutions that constitute this country, which in turn erodes the moral character and civic virtues in which our patriotism is rooted.
Combined with the ongoing health care reform proposals, the super committee to reduce spending in Congress, Gun law restrictions, the Patriot Act that has restricted our personal freedoms, the passing of NDAA, SOPA that is pending and the total breakdown of our non-representing representatives, if these policies continue, there will effectively be no private sector left in America. And even the half-true concept of individual freedom we currently enjoy, thanks to ever growing and ever encroaching government, will be all but gone.
The current citizen dissatisfaction of our Government and corporations, due to a terrible economy that won't let up for sometime, will only be more true if these destructive policies are enacted.
Not enough Americans understand the errors of the past and appreciate that this republic, for which our Founders risked their lives, fortunes and sacred honor, is truly a valuable treasure worth preserving. In the future, only a restoration of individual liberty, with its challenges and opportunities, will guarantee a strong, moral America.
"The truth is that all men having power ought to be mistrusted."
"The problem to be solved is, not what form of government is perfect, but
which of the forms is least imperfect."
"I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the
people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent
and sudden usurpations."
James Madison (1809–1817)

We live in an uncertain time. Public opinion polls show a drop in Americans’ optimism about the economic future of the country. Optimism and pessimism are traits that condition people’s reaction to uncertainty, but they are also influenced by uncertainty.
There are, however, objective reasons to
worry that the nation’s economic growth may be stunted for years to
come. One reason for concern is looming fiscal crisis in the
We badly need tax reform, education reform, health reform, immigration reform, environmental reform, a reduction in economic inequality, a better transportation network, and a slimmed-down public sector. Our political system seems incapable of achieving improvements in any of these areas. So we need reform of the political system, but that is blocked by a combination of incumbent self-interested non-representing representatives and a constitutional structure optimized for eighteenth-century conditions.
I would never have imagined, let alone predicted that there would be revolution in America in my lifetime. Yet, I can imagine it for the first time and that's not reassuring at all.
What form it may eventually take, or how broadly it may spread, I can't say. But I do sense enough remaining rebellious spirit and angry people in this country that we will not go quietly into the night.
Assuming we do, how Americans finally stand up to this government is unforeseeable. But I'd hazard a guess that there's enough of us troubled enough to make history, and block the pass with 300 Spartans, even if we are unable to make a difference in the end.
